This captivating trek is known by various names, including Jumolhari Trek II, Yaksa Trek, or simply the Jomolhari Loop. Its crowning glory lies in the awe-inspiring vistas of Mount Jumolhari that greet you from the base camp. If your desire is to witness the grandeur of Mount Jumolhari and Jichu Drake without undertaking the arduous journey to Lingzhi and reaching high altitudes, then the Soi Yaksa trek is the perfect choice for you.
While this trek is less demanding than the Jumolhari Trek, it still takes you to elevations where altitude sickness can pose a challenge. You have the option to retrace your steps from the Jangothang base camp, traversing the enchanting turquoise Tshophu Lake at 4,380 meters and crossing the Bhonte La pass at 4,890 meters, ultimately leading you back to Drugyel Dzong. On the second-to-last day of the trek, as you make your way through the Thombu La pass at 4,380 meters, you will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the majestic white mountain range of Kanchenjunga in Sikkim, a sight that truly enriches your journey.
Embark on this remarkable adventure, where nature’s grandeur unfolds at every step, leaving you with unforgettable memories and a profound appreciation for the awe-inspiring landscapes of the region.
